became operational in 1998. the mine is operated by resolute mining from
Australia
Geita Gold Mine Project operated by
Ashanti / Anglogold became operational in 2001.the resource is2 0.0Moz
grading 4.0g/t gold. The mines area include the Old Geita Mine
Kahama Gold Mine at Bulyahulu became
operational in 2000. the resource is estimated at 14.6Moz grading at 15
g/t gold.
Nyabirama/Nyabigena (North Mara Mine) in
Musoma -Mara greenstone belt. Operated by Afrika Mashariki Gold
Mining .The mine became operational in 2001 and now is operated by
placerdome. The resources is estimated at 4.1 Moz with an average grade of
5.2g/t gold. Tulawaka Mine in West Rwamagaza greenstone belt. The mine
commenced production in March 2005. The resources are estimated at 1.7M
oz. The mine is operated by Barrick Gold Limited. Buhemba Mine in
Musoma-Mara greenstone belt operated by Meremeta, became operational 2002.
The estimated resource is 0.40 Moz.
